I can’t believe another two weeks of dieting are over!
I am wrapping up my tryst with The Special K Challenge and have to admit that this carb-centric kick actually did some good!
Read on to find out the skinny on Special K!
The Special K Challenge (SKC) has been making meal planning insanely easy. Two out of three meals a day consist of a bowl of cereal! I have also been following the plan’s recommendation of munching on two different Special K snack items (one mid-morning and one mid-afternoon), and adding a serving of fruit with my meals.
With eight flavors of cereal, fifteen snack options, and eight additional meal-supplement products there is a lot of variety to keep you from getting bored.
Read on for my picks of the week and also for a tasty SKC recipe too!
I just completed Round 1 of The Princess Project, which was The Eat Clean Diet by Tosca Reno. Over the past month I followed several different “Eat Clean” meal plans, worked my butt off at the gym, and blogged about it along the way! I’m now ready to move on to Round Two, and a whole new diet strategy.

Are you looking for ways to keep yourself looking and feeling young?
Start now, by using your very own built-in stress regulator, your lungs! Breathwork is just one technique that can help you to relax, look refreshed, and even to perform like a champion. Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine have long touted the benefits of breathwork. Yogis devote their entire lives to pranic practice. Thanks to researchers like Dr. Andrew Weil, we’re learning more about how and why it works. Dr. Weil’s audiobook: “Breathing: The Master Key to Self Healing” is a great starting point for how to harness the benefits of breathing.

It was a tough week all around. I had to travel all day on Thursday, but managed to still eat clean. I really aimed to buckle down on the portion sizes and eating 5 meals a day. I even brought my own leftover veggie rice noodles to eat on the plane, and while I’m sure no one else appreciated the fragrant onions and garlic, I was happy to have stuck to my plan!
I also kept it up at the gym. Saturday morning, I took a step aerobics class for the first time since the 90’s. It should have been called “kick” because that’s what it did to my body! The instructor did a phenomenal job of mixing things up with step, weights, Bosu, and abs. I have to say that the biggest motivator for me was keeping up with my 60-something mom! Kudos to you, Sue (and happy birthday!).
I’ll check in to keep you posted on the week, workouts, and what I’m eating. I feel a recipe or two coming on as well 😉
