The Not-So-Amazing Acai Berry Diet!

acai berry diet, adding acai, weight loss, lose weight, FITFineLines.com, MAS, Manhattan Aesthetic Surgery

Last week, shortly after I blogged about the potential health and anti-aging benefits of adding Acai to your diet on FightFineLines.com, the FITFineLines team came across an incredible news story!

Reporter Julia Miller at News 6 took it upon herself to try the “Acai Optimum” and “Advanced Colon Diet” for 4 weeks (This sounds surprisingly similar to The Princess Project right here on FIT!). After 4 weeks, she lost 25 pounds with no special diet, and no intense exercise! Sounds like the mighty Acai just got mightier!!

This amazing “news report,” impressed us until we read the fine print:

“…THIS WEBSITE IS ONLY ILLUSTRATIVE OF WHAT MIGHT BE ACHIEVABLE FROM USING THIS/THESE PRODUCTS, AND THAT THE STORY/COMMENTS DEPICTED ABOVE IS NOT TO BE TAKEN LITERALLY.”

We quickly realized that we were looking at an advertisement for a fasting/cleansing type set of products, and NOT a real news story. Bummer dude…

I’ll refer to my own personal “Homeostasis Food Plan”, which you’ll be reading more about very soon, for an explanation of why cleanses, colonics and detoxes are pseudo medicine and not recommended by western doctors:

The “Homeostasis Food Plan”

“Science disagrees with the common assumption that our bodies progressively accumulate dangerous levels of toxins.

A proclivity to storing away waste material would be quickly self-destructive to any organism. Indeed, there are medical conditions that prevent the body from clearing toxins. In most people, the liver, kidneys, lungs and skin do their jobs quite well.

Nonetheless, there may be a “steady state” of free-circulating toxins that, although only briefly permitted to affect the body, do so, indeed.

You can use alcohol as an example. It is consumed, metabolized, then excreted as waste. The body is now clear of the toxin (alcohol) but there was a finite window of opportunity for numerous effects on metabolic processes, cognition, coordination, perception, et cetera. Other harmful substances, such as sugar, trans-fatty acids, pollution and stress hormones follow a similar life cycle, and exert themselves potently within the human body.

We should like to see how the body functions when not affected by these “toxic” substances.”

The”Homeostasis Food Plan,” can assist with naturally restoring balance to:

* -immune function (better health)
* -skin (look better)
* -cognitive function (think better)
* -emotional health (feel better)
* -sensory and motor function (better athlete)
* -bone, muscle, connective tissue health (less pain, better performance)

For more about this food plan, e-mail me here: agnello@mac.com, and stay tuned to FITFineLines.com for more on this plan a little later.

In reality, there’s no one quick fix that will work to restore balance to your body and help you lose weight. The best that you can do is to follow what up-to-date science has to say with regard to physical fitness and proper nutrition. The “Homeostasis Food Plan,” is a smart step in finding balance through clean nutrition habits. Stay tuned to fitfinelines.com for more on creating a harmonious relationship with your sexy, strong, healthy body.

    This is great, Jason! I can’t wait to read more. I’ve done some fasts and cleanses mostly to experience what my clients are talking about and to see what all the hype is about so looking forward to your take!

  2. Weight lifting is the single greatest beneficial thing you can do to promote fat loss, other than controlling your dietary intake. However, take note that your actual weight may increase because muscle weighs more than fat. Instead of using a scale to gauge your progress, use a measuring tape, or your belt, as muscle takes up much less space than fat. Weight Lifting will increase your metabolism if used by itself; however, for the best results, add some cardio (in the form of treadmill or bike) to your workout as well. Remember, long sustained cardio is better for fat loss than hardcore aerobic cardio, which is better for overall metabolismm.

    • I’m commenting to let you know what a hepfull encounter my friend’s child gained visiting yuor web blog. She came to find some issues, with the inclusion of what it is like to possess a very effective giving mindset to get many more very easily gain knowledge of selected complex things. You truly exceeded our desires. Many thanks for churning out such precious, trustworthy, informative and even unique guidance on that topic to Ethel.

    • The type of physician I would like to work for is a Pediatrician. Pediatrician’s splaecity is to work with children. I have been working with children for a long time mainly because I work at a daycare facility. I’ve got to a point where I feel like I can handle anything that will come my way with them. It would also leave me feeling good at the end of the day to know that I have helped in some way to make a child feel better.The type of physician I would not care to work for is a Epidemiologist. Epidemiologist’s specialize in epidemics caused by infections agents and also work with sexually transmitted diseases. I feel if I were to work in this type of splaecity I would be putting my self at risk of exposure to these infectious agents. Also I would be focusing a lot of my time on trying to not get infected instead of having a steady mind on what I was actually supposed to be doing.

    • Thanks man great website plus some great cnenott articles, keep up the actual greatI had been surfing search engines and I saw your site which is very interesting, keep it up! I simply added this blog site in order to my google readers, excellent things. I Cannot obtain sufficient!

    • For me this is a relatively easy question, but has a pretty complex answer. The specialty I have actually looked forward to working with is OB/GYN. I find that the ability of a woman’s body to produce a child, endure the amount of abuse it takes during a pregnancy, and the amount of pain endured during delivery is amazing. The joy of being able to be present as life enters the world is truly one of the greatest moments in life. To me that would be the best possible option. I also would love working in the operating room with a surgeon. I have experienced the OR quite a few times, and have been on both “sides” of the table. I have to say I would love to work with any surgeon in the OR except for Orthopedics. The reason behind that is the surgery’s are pretty brutal when it comes to the skeletal system. Having been in the OR with an Orthopedic surgeon and seeing the use of the saws, hammers and other heavy equipment in order to perform the surgery just sends chills up my spine. I know that type of surgery is not for me. I think my favorite surgeries have to be that of the abdominal cavity. The specialties that I would least like to work for are few, and for simple reasons. Pediatrics is not a specialty for me since I have four children of my own. My Aunt is a neonatal nurse practitioner and I followed her in high school and saw the good, the bad, and the ugly so I can honestly say I could not emotionally handle that type of position. Podiatry is also an area I could not see myself working. The reason behind this is pretty silly, but here goes, I very much dislike other peoples feet especially if they are not well kept. I know in the medical field you will encounter feet on a daily basis, but I could not mainly work with feet on an everyday basis. My last specialty is Orthopedics for the reasons I noted above about the “barbaric” nature of the surgeries and treatments for the musculoskeletal system. Its just not for me.

    • A psychiatrist is a phiycsian who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders. I have a bachelor’s degree in the social services field. For several years, I have worked with children who have been diagnosed with mental disorders. It is upsetting to see children victimize at an early age and even more disturbing to see them as predators as early as 5 years of age, however knowing that I am doing my part to assist them in becoming functioning youths and adults is rewarding. The empathy, confidentiality and maturity of a medical assistant are definitely needed in this area. I enjoy establishing a rapport with these clients and helping them to find adequate coping skills to deal with their disorders, therefore I would like to work for a psychiatrist.I would not like to work for an emergency phiycsian for several reasons. I will explain a few. Patients who come to the emergency center typically have serious injuries or trauma. I would not like to have my mind constantly focused on who is coming thru the door and how sever the prognosis is. Knowing myself, I know that would be my focus and I would not be very productive. Also, in the emergency room the staff has to be prepared for anything, I would prefer an area that focuses on a particular specialty. Most importantly, I do not wish to see excessive amounts of blood loss on a regular basis. Actually, not even a minimal amount of blood loss on a regular basis. Giving my opinion and thoughts about this specialty, I would not be an effective employee.

    • I am currently fsiiihnng up my BA in Child Development and Family Studies and thus far I have only work with children from 2 weeks to adolescent while helping support their families. The Physician that I would want to work under is an Obstetrics (OB) because they are in direct contact with pregnant women and their children during pregnancy. I would choose this particular specialty for a variety of reason such as having the opportunity to see individuals become parent for the first time, seeing how much love is surrounded in the process, being there to help the mothers while there in a vulnerable state. One of my main reasons is because I think that the whole birthing process is fascinating and to be able to be a part of family’s lives while going through this process, I imagine to be extremely rewarding.A of physician specialty that I would least want to work with would be a psychiatrist. Although I believe that psychiatrist do some spectacular work and help a lot of people through difficult situations I personally believe that this job would be to emotionally draining and overwhelming for me. This makes me question whether or not I would be able to handle it. When I set out to do a job my goal is to do the best that I can and I don’t feel that I could successfully do this job to the best of my ability.

    • My spouse and i have been now eattsicc Edward could complete his researching through your precious recommendations he got from your very own weblog. It’s not at all simplistic to simply be giving freely secrets the others might have been trying to sell. And we all know we have the blog owner to thank for that. All of the explanations you made, the simple web site menu, the relationships you can give support to promote it’s mostly astounding, and it’s really letting our son in addition to our family consider that that theme is enjoyable, and that’s very vital. Thank you for the whole lot!
